Welcome to the North Central Bird Observatory
Welcome to the North Central Bird Observatory. A new organization formed by two itinerant birders who hope to educate and entertain visitors with news of birds, birding, and conservation.
Vision:
The North Central Bird Observatory is dedicated to the promotion of awareness, understanding and appreciation of birds and their habitats in the upper midwest of the United States.Mission:
*To promote the conservation and preservation of native birds and their habitats.
*To provide opportunities for the public to experience ornithological research first hand.
*To broaden the birding audience by providing accessible, user friendly information.
*To establish projects and protocols appropriate to this geographical area and necessary to fill in gaps in the existing knowledge about birds.
*To cooperate with other scientific and education institutions in the pursuit of common goals.
*To share the excitement, satisfaction and fun of understanding citizen science and the study of natural history.

The NCBO is a non-profit, educational organization. We concentrate our efforts on the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin but are not bound by geopolitical boundaries (or ideologies).
